William Albert "W.A." Edwards, Sr. William Albert "W.A." Edwards, Sr. was born November 30, 1937 in Harleton, Texas to Harold and Beulah Alexander Edwards. He passed away April 22, 2010 in Marshall, Texas. W.A. was a Baptist. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had served during his country during the Korean War, working in the boiler room as a motor handler on the USS Oriskany. He was a Golden Gloves Boxer as well as a Navy Boxer. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Edwards of Marshall, Texas, two daughters: Kristi and husband Jessie Cathey of Marshall, Texas and Brenda Sanches of Flagstaff, Arizona, four sons; Joe and wife Tonya Edwards, Bob Edwards, Larry and wife Melissa Edwards and Bubba and wife Tammy Edwards all of Marshall, Texas, one sister Dorothy Smith of Marshall, Texas, grandchildren: Ashley, Johnathon, John, James, Jeremy, Alisha, Samantha, Michael, Cassandra and Larry Edwards, Jr., Angel, Jessie Cathey Jr., Anthony, Zack, Mirtha and Angel LaVelle Edwards, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by five children. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00pm Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Meadowbrook Chapel.
