Born in Antrim or Donegal,Ireland abt. 1715 to Dr. Hercules Roney. His father died off the coast of Guinea while in service as Doctor for Queens Army-England. Father of Mary Roney (Purdy, (and maybe other girls), William, John, James, Joseph, James, Thomas and Robert Roney. Immigrated to Philadelphia in 1774. Died in West Finley Twsh, Washington Co.,PA.
