Death notice published in the Big Spring Herald on Friday, March 2, 1956: Death Claims Mrs. Grantham Mrs. Mary Grantham, 84, resident of Knott community for the past 23 years, died in a hospital here at 10:45 a.m. Friday. She had been hospitalized for nine weeks. The body is at the River Funeral Home and funeral arrangements are pending. Mrs. Grantham was formerly a resident of Wise County. She is survived by four sons, Emmett Grantham, Albert Grantham and Glenn Grantham, all of Big Spring, and Odie Grantham, Knott; three daughters, Mrs. Cleo Neely, Kermin, Calif., Mrs. Monnie Stallings, Knott, and Mrs. Ester Gaskin, Big Spring; and one brother, Walter Shortes, Ada, Okla. There are twenty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
