Bio

Mr. Robert Erwin Bourland, age 80, of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 24, 2005 in McKinney. He was born on September 17, 1924 in Chambersville, Texas to Ray E. and Emily I. (Chandler) Bourland. He married Frances Littlejohn on October 26, 1996 in McKinney. Mr. Bourland served in the U.S. Army. He was a charter member and deacon of the Community Avenue Baptist Church. He was very active in the Gideons. He retired from TXU after 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Frances Bourland of McKinney, Texas; sons, Don Bourland and wife, Carol also of McKinney and Bob Bourland and wife, Gloria of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter, Linda Merchant and husband, Doug of Henderson, Texas; brothers, Lyman Bourland of Irving, Texas and Glynn R. Bourland and wife, Peggy of McKinney; sister, Edna Higgenbotham of McKinney; step daughters, Linda James and Stacy Edwards both of McKinney; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 5 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Louise. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 28, 2005 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Bro. Don Bourland and family officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
