Roy Elmer Jones died February 24, 1986 in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood, Leon County, Texas. Roy was born September 14, 1922, in Leon County, the son of the late Maxie Troupe Jones and Minnie Keils. He lived in Oakwood, Texas as a child and young man. He was an Army Air Corp Veteran of WW II and a Prisoner Of War for a lengthy time. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Mac Laroy Jones in 1982. He was survived by his wife, Loneta June (Gatewood) Jones; and children, Renee, and Jerry. He was the grandson of Albert D. Keils and Mary Augusta Keils; and Shirl Jones and Sallie (Post) Jones. Mary Jo Davis is a sister.
