Bio

I have not determined when the family returned from Canada. John and Mary brought their three children back to Iowa early in 1910; however, Franklin, Zoe and their children remained in Canada a little longer; they were back in Iowa living in Council Bluffs in 1915. Francis had an older sister, Gertrude Ida Mae (McKinley) Patterson born in Dallas County, IA. 8 Oct. 1897. She married Charles Carriker 19 Aug. 1915 in Council Bluffs and later a Patterson that I have not identified. According to her father's obituary, she was living in Van Nuys California in 1953 when he passed away. Her whereabouts are presently unknown (April 2023). She was living with her mother, brother Paul, and sister Lola in Council Bluffs where they were enumerated in the 1915 Iowa census before her marriage. Younger sister Lola Muriel was born in 1908 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Paul's parents divorced and his mother later married Ernest Haggard. His father, Franklin, never remarried.
