Dorothy Carol Peterson Thompson Gurr, 70, died August 16, 1997 in Provo, Utah. Born December 25, 1926 in Provo, Utah to James LaVell and Lexie Julander Peterson. Married Melvin R. Thompson July 11, 1942 in Heber City, Utah. He preceded her in death December 28, 1970. Married Miles Enoch Gurr March 3, 1972 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He preceded her in death May 19, 1987. She enjoyed her dog, Sam, flowers and yardwork. Survived by daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Barbara) North, Hanna, UT; Mrs. Leon (Bonnie) Brimhall, Wallsburg, UT; son, Forrey and wife, Tamra Thompson, Heber City; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Peterson, Seattle, WA; Dee L. Peterson, Idaho; one sister, Ruth Bush, Roch Springs, WY; step-sister, Norma (Merlin) Hampton, American Fork, UT. Preceded in death by a son, Terry L. Thompson. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 20, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Heber 8th Ward (500 S. 200 W.). Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior at the church.
