Bio

Son of Henry Jacob Pittenger and Mary 'Polly' Barcus. Married Ann Smith on Feb 21, 1811 in Jefferson Co, Ohio. He walked to Kosciusko Co, Indiana in the fall of 1835 from Wayne Co, Ohio in search of a mill site. Came back in the spring of 1836 with 2 of his daughters, Elizabeth and Lydia to build the mill and by late fall 1836, the rest of the Pittenger family joined them.
