Bio

Edgar Allen "E.A." Baldwin was born near Mondamin, IA, to Harry and Agnes (Seal) Baldwin, and lived most of his life on the family farm near Little Sioux, IA. He was a boisterous farmer, prankster and intrepid traveler who passed away at a hospice in Bettendorf, IA. He was long remembered as the Mondamin High School student who forced an evacuation of the school by sticking his trombone out of a second story window and making it sound exactly like a fire truck siren. He traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Spain and northern Africa and cruised the Caribbean. He was recognized for land conservation practices and was a lifelong member of the Harrison County Fair Board. He enjoyed casinos and their buffets, tinkering with cars, bargaining at shops and flea markets, tending to collections ranging from historic guns to baseball caps and telling stories. For many years, his license plate read "I M EA". With wife, Margaret McDaniel, he had 2 children. He, also, married Adeline Nemec, Mary Frank and Mildred Powell. He is survived by daughter, 2 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sister: Margaret Baldwin, brother: Curtis Baldwin, son: Curtis A. Baldwin, 4 wives, and step-son: Roger Nemec. He was cremated and interred at the Little Sioux Cemetery.
