Adolf Elles La Salle—Adolf Elles, 75, of La Salle, died Saturday at his home following a sudden illness. He was born Aug. 21, 1912, in Rosebud, son of the late Joe and Rose Hanulik Elles. A retired farmer, he had lived in La Salle since 1929. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church of La Salle and the SPJST Lodge. He married the former Ella Gerik on Nov. 1, 1939, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in La Salle. A rosary will be recited at 7 p. m. Sunday at Slavik Funeral Home Chapel. A prayer service will be at 2 p. m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael O'Shaughnessy officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Edna under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home. Surviving are his wife, Ella Gerik Elles of La Salle; a son, James W. Elles of Houston; two sisters, Matilda Jurcak of La Salle and Oline Horn of Edna; three brothers, Rudy Elles of La Salle, Joe Elles Jr. of Edna, and Franklin Elles of Victoria. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Elles; and a sister, Adina Strmiska. Victoria Advocate , January 31, 1988
