Bio
Mary was the daughter of Richard BRUTON & Elizabeth COX. She married Charles Macomber ELDER on 27 Jan 1875 in Dallas Co TX. They had nine children: Lillie May, James Bruton, Annie Elizabeth, Josephine Nancy, Alice Franklin (Frankie), Kathleen Lee (Katie), Myrtle Evelyn, Mary Ellen & Hattye Pizer ELDER. She was a housewife and died at her Home of a cerebral hemorrhage. See attached biography of her father, a pioneer settler of Dallas County TX. OBITUARY: The Dallas Morning News, 6 May 1947 Mrs. Mary Elder, 93, To Be Buried at Ennis Services for Mrs. Mary E. Elder, 93, who died at her home in Ennis Monday, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday. She was the last member of the Richard Bruton family, formerly of Dallas. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. J.S. Doane of Bryan, Brazos County; Mrs. Eugene Morris, San Antonio; Mrs. T. G. May of Palestine; Mrs. Floyd Dunkerley, and Miss Annie Elder, both of Ennis; twelve grandchildren, and several great and great-great-grandchildren.
