Bio

Mrs. Rosie Blaha, 85, died at her home in Abbott on Tuesday, July 9, 2007. Funeral services were held at the Czech Moravian Brethren Church in West at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 11. Rev. Daniel Marek of Houston and Rev. F. J. Kostohryz of Temple officiated. Burial was in the Czech Moravian Brethren Cemetery (West Brethren Cemetery). Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home, Hillsboro, was in charge. Mrs. Blaha was born in Hodslavick, Moravia, and came to the United States in 1892. She married Tom Blaha in 1893. He died in 1918. She had lived in the Abbott community for many years. Surviving are her sons, Walter J. Blaha and Joe F. Blaha, of Granger; O.N. Robert Blaha and William D. Blaha, of Abbott, John E. Blaha, of Dallas, and Ernest L. Blaha, of West; daughters, Miss Vlasta Blaha, of Abbott, and Mrs. James Motis, of West; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
