Bio

W.H. Dent married Miss Dora Harmonson on 30 December 1909 at Newcastle, Texas officiated by Rev. W.P. Harmonson, Minister of the Gospel at the home of her mother. The couple moved to Newcastle in 1914. Services for William Dent, 81, were held from the Newcastle Baptist church with Rev. J. Carl Wright, pastor, officiating and assisted by Rev. I.W. Lawrence, retired Baptist minister. Mr. Dent moved to Young County in 1894, at the age of 17, and settled in the Fort Belknap community moving here from Hood County, Texas. He had served as City Judge of Newcastle for a number of years. Mr. Dent was engaged in farming and running a dairy until his retirement several years ago. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and Woodman of the World lodge. Survivors: his wife; two brothers - W.L. Dent and Fred Dent, both of Weatherford; three nephews, five nieces.
