Bio

Troy Lee Shelton, 89, Kenefic, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday morning, March 28, 2010, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant. He was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Mead, Oklahoma, and attended Crystal, Oklahoma, schools. He married Thelma Faris in January of 1944 in Hugo, Oklahoma, and she preceded him in death in April 2008. He was also preceded in death by nine brothers and one sister. They moved to California after marriage and then to Oregon where he was a millworker in the wood industry before returning to Bryan County in 1975, living several years in Crystal, Kenefic and the Butcher Pen area. Shelton is survived by one daughter Hilda Santana, Kenefic, and a grandson Troy Santana, Ft. Hood, Texas, and five other grandchildren of Silverton, Oregon. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Shelton was cremated. Family graveside services were held Saturday at Crystal Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carl Cunningham and Cunningham Funeral Home in Caddo, Oklahoma.
