Daughter of Martin and Marina "Marie" Krivackova Zapalac. Sibings include Johann (John) Zapalac 1861-1926, Rozina (Rosie) Zapalac 1867-1913, Baby Johann (born and died 1870 on voyage to America. John Zapalac married Marianna Kudelka, Rosie Zapalac married Joseph Kristoff. Marie (Mary) was the only child of Martin and Marina who was born after settling in Texas. She married Ferdinand (Fred) Sassin January 31, 1900. They had one child - Wilhelmina Sassin.
