Died in honor of his country in France, WWI "The Story of Montague County, Texas," Montague County Historical Commissions, Melvin E. Fenoglio, Editor "In 1917 much of the adult conversation centered around the threat of war...Six Dewey men were called to serve the nation. Pearson Williams, Pt McMillion and Jimmie Hannon returned. Monte Hartsell, Claude Chessar and Albert Nethery were brought home in flag-draped coffins."
