According to the church records at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sandoval, Wilhelmina was born in Brandenburg Germany. It also shows her husband as Karl Neumann. (information provided Marcella Shoener, church member). ----------------------------------- From the 1900 census for Washington county, TX Name: Minnie Neumann Age: 44 Birth Date: Oct 1855 Birthplace: Germany Home in 1900: Justice Precinct 7, Washington, Texas Race: White Gender: Female Immigration Year: 1889 Relation to Head of House: Head Marital Status: Widowed Father's Birthplace: Germany Mother's Birthplace: Germany Mother: number of living children: 6 Mother: How many children: 6 Household Members: Name Age Minnie Neumann 44 Bertha Neumann 18 Otto Neumann 15 William Neumann 13 Hermann Neumann 11 *Not shown on this census is daughter Emilie born in Germany in 1879. -------------------------------- After her husband Karl Neumann died, Wilhelmina married Ernst F. H. Foltermann on 24 Dec 1896 (record on file at the Washington County courthouse). It appears they did not stay together as he is absent on the 1900 census. --------------------------------- NOTE: The following information is on record at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, Washington county TX. Maiden name in St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Gay Hill Burial Records is shown as Diesendorf. Burial records also say she died near Taylor, Williamson Co, age 57 years, 4 months, 24 days. Survived by 6 children, 18 grandchildren. No marker, grave site unknown. ---------------------------------- Notice on the church records from St. Peter's Church her maiden name is shown as "Diesendorf". I have two thoughts about this. 1. It is a transcription/translation error or 2. Wilhelmina married a Diesendorf in Germany before she married Karl Neumann. Further research required-Vickie Smith Hageorn.
