THE ASHLAND GAZETTE (23 Mar 2010) WAHOO Milo Kaspar, 92, died March 21 in Wahoo. Kaspar was born July 22, 1917 to Thomas and Emma (Curda) Kaspar on a farm near Prague. He attended grade school near Weston and graduated from Weston High School in 1935. In the early 1940s he worked for Bell Aircraft in Buffalo, N.Y. and also at Glen L. Martin in Omaha. In January 1944 he joined the army air corps ground crew and was discharged in June of 1946 as a Sergeant. On April 5, 1945, he married Antonia Sisel in Loma. The couple farmed near Weston. In 1955 the family moved near David City, where they farmed until retiring in 1982. In 1990 they moved to Columbus. He served on the District 23 County School Board, the Center Township Board and the St. Francis Church Board. In addition, he was a 50-year member of the Rejda Post 273 American Legion in Brainard, a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Milo is survived by a son, Norman (Cheryl) Kaspar, of David City; daughter, Sharon Werner, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Rebecca (Mike) Grant, Matt (Amber) Kaspar, Natalie (Jimmy) Bunch, Mark Kaspar and Neil Kaspar; great-grandchildren, Mekayla, Tyler, Caden Addison and Bailey Grant, and Olivia and Adison Kaspar; brother-in-law, Ernie Sabatka; sister-in-law, Helen Sisel; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Milo was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson, Michael Benes and brother, Max Kaspar.
