Daughter of Doctor Franklin and Alta Fay Tibbs Murphy. Wife of Dalton Ray McMullen. Beaty Funeral Home Obituary Lula Bell McMullen December 23, 1929 - February 3, 2013 Mrs. Lula Bell Murphy McMullen, age 83 of Winnsboro, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013. She was born on December 23, 1929 in Rochester, Texas to the late Doctor Franklin Murphy and Alta Faye Tibbs Murphy. She married Dalton Ray McMullen on January 14, 1949 at the home of Rev. Jake Morris in the Smyrna Community. She retired from the First National Bank after many years of service, and went on to become secretary for Walnut Street Baptist Church. She was also involved in delivering Meals-on-Wheels until she was forced to quit for health reasons. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Huelene Whitworth; and two brothers, Odis Murphy and Joe Arlon Murphy. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Dalton McMullen of Winnsboro; sons, Gary McMullen and wife Brenda of Greenville, Benney McMullen and wife Cathryn of Ben Wheeler; daughter, Vickey Chau and husband Gerry of Emory; sister, Louise Dickey and husband Kenneth of Winnsboro; sister-in-law, Alline Murphy of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Leah McMullen of Mesquite, Rusty McMullen and wife Lindsay of Maud, OK., Shelly McMullen of the Czech Republic, Tabetha McMullen of Canton, Preston McMullen of Nacogdoches; great-grandchildren, Triston McMullen, Kirston Dykes, Beau McMullen, Dax McMullen, and Hudson McMullen.
