Ladimer "Lad" Kliment, 92, of Valparaiso died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at Saunders County Community Hospital in Wahoo. He was born March 22, 1910, in rural Valparaiso. He attended District 17 School in rural Valparaiso and also attended school in the Prague area. He married Blanch Placek March 26, 1929, in Wahoo. His spouse preceded him in death Aug. 16, 2002. The couple farmed west of Weston until moving to Valparaiso in 1985. He was a member of Saunders County Livestock Feeders Association and Valparaiso Senior Center and a former board member of School District 113. Survivors include: two sons, Dennis (and wife, Erma) Kliment and Eugene (and wife, Gwen) Kliment, all of Lincoln; two brothers, Frank Kliment of Weston and Max (and wife, "'Billie") Kliment of David City; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hula of Valparaiso; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. He also was preceded in death by a brother and an infant brother. The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with the Rev. Burton Knudsen officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo. Memorials have been established to Valparaiso Senior Center and Valparaiso Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
