He was born May 2, 1930, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He married Wilma D. Dale on May 15, 1953, in Colorado Springs. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wyoming Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, Wyoming Engineering Society, Wyoming Department of Transportation Employees Association, Masonic Lodge, Capitol Lodge No. 54 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Wyoming Shrine Club and Wyoming Consistory. He loved music and played guitar in the Jim Harnish Band for many years. Edward grew up in Colorado Springs and attended Colorado State University from 1949 to 1953, when he graduated with a degree in civil engineering. He was subsequently licensed as a professional engineer and land surveyor in Wyoming. Edward joined the highway department at Evanston in 1953, working as a surveying rodman. In 1961, he was named resident engineer at Evanston and in 1967 district construction engineer at Casper. Two years later, he was appointed assistant state maintenance engineer and transferred to Cheyenne. In 1971, he was named state maintenance engineer, and two years later he was appointed to fill the newly designated post of state construction and maintenance engineer. He retired in 1992 as the assistant chief engineer of operations at the Wyoming Department of Transportation. He is survived by his wife, Wilma D. Crowe of Cheyenne; son, Edward Allen Crowe and his wife, Christy of Fillmore, Utah; daughters, Jeanne Sorensen and her husband Scott of Cheyenne, Linda Williams and her husband, Jeff of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Emily Sorensen, Shane Sorensen, Karli Williams and Kirk Williams. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Crowe.
