"Jody" McNeel Nov 1,1915-Nov 19,2006 Joseph Aloysisus "Jody" McNeel, 91, of North Platte died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.He was born Nov. 1, 1915, to Joseph William and Ivy Mary Groves McNeel at North Platte where he grew up. He married Mary Byers, from Plattsmouth on Dec. 21, 1937, and they made their home in North Platte. He had McNeel's Auto Repair from 1939 to 1946. In 1941, Jody hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad and in 1958, he became an engineer. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1980. Jody was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, Duck's Unlimited and a charter member of Eagles Aeries No. 2839. Survivors include, Lisa (Greg) Kelley of Beaverton, Ore.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a special friend, Imy Dudgeon of North Platte; and many nieces, nephews and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Ron McNeel; and nine sisters, Helen Facka, Edna McWilliams, Mary Miles, Regina Rector, Josephine Coder, Pat Hedrick, Irene Hansen, Claire Wilkinson, and Florence Bryant. A graveside memorial service and inurnment will be Nov. 22, 2006, at the North Platte Cemetery. North Platte Telegraph 2006
