Alvin Keene Smith, age 30, died October 16, 1918 at Camp Logan Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born December 26, 1887 in Hall County, Nebraska, to William F. and Nellie (Doughterty) Smith. He was a member of the Texas National Guard and died in service. Burial in the West Fork Cemetery, in Washington County, Arkansas. ********************************************** In the 1920 and the 1930 U. S. Census, his parents were listed as living at Lee's Creek, Washington County, Arkansas. His sister, Edith Smith Sword applied for his militiary service connected headstone.
