The Wellington Leader April 29, 1937 Funeral services for L. T, Sullivan, former sheriff of Collingsworth County, were held Thursday, April 22. Mr. Sullivan, who had been ill for the past two years died at his home south of Wellington April 21. Lucas Terry Sullivan was born February 22, 1871 in Union county, Mississippi. In 1910 he was elected sheriff of Collingsworth County and in this capacity made a lasting reputation as a fearless and efficient peace officer. He returned to this community in 1925 and has lived here since that time.
