Hughson) and Clarence McDarnell Half sister of Eloise Katherine (Will Stephenson) and Elizabeth Pulcheria "Lizzie" (Joe Cook) Wife of Dr. Neill Brown Wood married December 20, 1903 "Belle" was what she was called. No children On the 1880 census taken June 11 & 12 in Beat One, Lowndes County, the Robert Harris family is listed as household 261 and family 271. In the home was R.S. (Robert 41), A.D. (Augusta 26), Eloise (9), P.E. (Pulcherie 7), M.C. (Martha 5), O.C. (Oliver 2), M.B. (Mary Belle 1 month). All were born in Miss. Robert was a farmer. On the 1900 census taken June 22 in Beat One, Township 17, in Lowndes County, the Harris family is listed as household 253 and family 255. In the home were Robert S. age 66, born August 1838, Augusta D., age 47, born November 1852, Compton O. age 22, born December 1877, Mary B., age 20, born April 1880, Katie A, age 17, born September 1882, Clarence M., age 15, born March 1885, and Annie Williams, age 8, born August 1891. Robert was a farmer, Compton was a grocer/salesman and Annie was a servant in the home. Robert and Augusta had been married 26 years and had five children with all still living. Wood Dies 36 Hours After passing of Mate The relatives or life-long friends who served as pallbearers or members of the flower committee at rites held yesterday morning for Dr. Neill Brown Wood will serve in like capacities at services to be held for his widow at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Mrs. Wood died at 6:20 a.m. today at Columbus Hospital, following her husband in death by less than 36 hours. They had been married 54 years. Services for Mrs. Wood will be held at Gunter Funeral Home Chapel, as were services for him. Again the Rev. Charles F. Stewart will officiate. Mrs. Wood will be buried beside her husband in Woodlawn Cemetery. She was Miss Mary Belle Harris before her marriage. Her parents were Robert S. Harris and Augusta Vaughn Harris, prominent life long citizens of the Woodlawn community. Mrs. Wood, who married her childhood sweetheart, lived all her married life within two miles of the house in which she was born. From childhood, she was a member of the Presbyterian Church, first of Woodlawn, later of Caledonia. She was active in church work and community affairs. She was educated at the Woodlawn School and at M.S.C.W. when it was I.I. & C. She was one of Lowndes County's best known and loved elderly women citizens. She was 76. Her closest survivor is a sister, Mrs. C.E. Hughson. She also leaves six nephews, Robert Lipsey of Columbus, Harry Stephenson of Caledonia, Everett Cook of Gulfport, Harvey Cook of Artesia and A. B. Cook of Hattiesburg; five nieces, Mrs. J.B. Swanzey and Mrs. K.L. Spurlock of Columbus, Mrs. Reece Bickerstaff of Gulfport, Mrs. Cicero Roberts of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Mrs. J.T. Littleton of Fort Pierce, Fla.; three great-nephews, P.B. Brewer and Arthur Lipsey of Columbus, and R.L. Lipsey Jr. of Jackson, Tenn.; three great-nieces, Mrs. Eugene Foster of Columbus, Mrs. Edward Shelton of Noxapater, and Mrs. Edward Graves of Montevallo, Ala.; 10 great-great nephews and six great-great-nieces. Pallbearers will be Newman Malone, Rushton Stinson, Kirby Spurlock, Harvey Cook, James Winn, and Elvis Bell, of Crawford. Serving on the flower committee will be Mrs. Newman Malone, Mrs. Minnie Bridges, Mrs. Fletcher Perkins, Mrs. Bessie Mae Vaughn, Mrs. Louella Stephenson and Miss Juanita Hackleman.
