Leona Emma Nelson, 95, of Pineland, Texas passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Nelson was born in Taylor, Texas on April 18, 1924 to Arthur George and Minnie Wilhelm George. She was a housewife and a resident of the Pine Park Community for 56 years. She was also a member of East Mayfield Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons James W. Nelson and wife, Charlotte, of Plainview, Texas and Richard Nelson and wife, Robbie, of Longview, Texas; and 15 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nelson; and her granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Nelson Robertson Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas. Burial will follow services in Pine Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are James Nelson, Richard Nelson, John Nelson, Sean Nelson, and Joe Nelson.
