Obituary - 24 Mar 1977 - Douglas County Gazette Funeral services for Emma Brown Otte were held on Monday, March 21 at 2pm at the Swanson Funeral Home in Valley. The Rev. Kenneth Bunnell officiated. Mrs. Otte was born Jan. 24, 1895 at Elk City to Lewis and Alma Brown. On Dec. 3, 1913, she was united in marriage to Herman Otte at Omaha. To this marriage were born daughters: Alvina and Lucille; and three sons: Hareld, Roland and Jack. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church of Waterloo, Neb. and was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herman and four children. Survivors include her daughter, Lucille Echtenkamp, of Fremont, seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Emma, 82, died March 18, 1977, at the Arbor Manor Nursing Home in Fremont, after an illness of about three months. Pallbearers were Lyman Brown, Wesley Brown, Harlan Otte and Mervin Otte. Interment was at Prospect Hill Cemetery near Elkhorn. The Swanson Funeral Home of Valley was in charge of all arrangements.
