Lillian Z. Chudej, 89, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 3, 2010 at West Rest Haven in West, Texas. Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Lillian was born in Hill County, Texas, to the late John A. and Mary (Bezdek) Zatopek. She was raised near Abbott where she attended school. On June 26, 1945 she was united in marriage to Albin F. Chudej in West. Lillian was a homemaker and loved her husband, family. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11. Lillian enjoyed cooking, sewing, and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 29, 1995; brother, Johnny Zatopek ; and sister, Mary Skerik.
