Buried May 21, 2006 Lot 401D Space- 4 Dorothy May Branigan Oct 14,1915-May 13, 2006 Dorothy May Branigan, 90, of North Platte died May 13, 2006, at Centennial Park. She was born Oct. 14, 1915, at Powell, to Hayes John and Lottie May Caylor McDole. She was raised in the Fairbury area where she graduated from high school in 1934. On Sept. 4, 1938, she married Gerald "Jerry" Branigan in Fairbury. He preceded her in death in 1983. Dorothy had been a resident of North Platte for more than 56 years. Mrs. Branigan volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and was a past Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America, Our Lady of Fatima Court. She was the last living charter member of that group. She recently received the President's Volunteer Service Award from George Bush's Council on Service and Civil Participation for more than 4,000 hours of service through her church and Great Plains Regional Medical Center Volunteers. Survivors include her daughter, Gayle (Gary) Ray of Castle Pines, Colo.; four sons, John (Zilphia) Branigan of Idaho Springs, Colo., James Branigan of Campbell, Calif., Patrick (Nancy) Branigan of Alexandria, Va., and Michael (Nancy) Branigan of Lakewood, Colo.; five grandchildren, John (Carla) Kenny of Castle Rock, Colo., Kristin Kenny of Aspen, Colo., Robert (Denise) Branigan of Bailey, Colo., Kelly (Tim) Curran of Spring Creek, Nev., and Kath-leen Branigan of Alexandria; seven great-grandchildren, Dustin, Dillon, Cody, Devin, Dante, Reegan and Katie. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Maurice McDole and Dale Caylor McDole; her sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Jessie McDole of Red Cloud; and beloved niece, Patty Branigan Dutcher of North Platte. Christian Wake service will be at Adams & Swanson Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Private family burial will be in the North Platte Cemetery.
