Eloise Barber, 85, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at a local care center. Celebration of life: 3 p.m. Friday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Barber was born June 3, 1924, to Adolph and Rosa Prachyl Ondra in Weatherford. She was a woman of many interests and talents, including needlework, crocheting, golfing and painting. She and her husband, Roy, were avid fishermen, and were renowned for their massive fish fries that inevitably followed their fishing trips. The Barbers were very social people who were truly blessed with a host of friends. Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Barber; daughter, Denise Hawsey; granddaughter, Dena Sutherland; and sisters, Janie Wyatt, Rosalie Reynolds and Alyne Wingo. Survivors: Son, Roland Barber and wife, Molly; sisters, Josephine King and Margaret Adams; brother, Augusta Ondra; granddaughters, Lori Tubbs and husband, Larry, and Toni Suttin and husband, Jeremy; and great-granddaughters, Emily and Sophia Tubbs.
