Bio

Mrs. Sarah R. Allred died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.W. King at Hendrix Thursday night. The deceased is survived by three sons. P.A. Allred of Purvis, Mississippi, Ira and Wesley Allred of Hendrix, five daughters, Mrs. J. W. King and Mrs. J. H. Wilson of Hendrix, Mrs. D.I. Kirby of Mr. Moriah, Mrs. H.W. Horton of Crossville, Mrs. Alonzo Bynum of near Lebanon, two brothers, W. M. Jones of Hendrix, P.A. Jones of Texas, three sisters, Mrs. Roxie Hackney and Mrs. Madge White of Texas, 29 grandchildren and nineteen great -grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Mt. Moriah Saturday by Rev. Roy M. Jones and J.A. Skipper with Drinkard in charge. [The Southern Democrat, February 24, 1938]
