Bio

The Wellington Leader January 27, 1972 Mrs. Millard Brown, 67, died in St. Joseph's Hospital at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23. Although she had been in ill health, her death was unexpected to her friends throughout the area. She had lived in Wellington 29 years, coming here from Memphis when her husband was placed in charge of the county ASCS office. A native Texan, she was the former Lula Mae Newman, daughter of Walter and Cannie Nichols Newman. She was born November 1, 1904, in Comanche County. She and Mr. Brown were married April 18, 1925, in Wheeler. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Church of Christ and active in its work. Survivors are her husband, Millard P. Brown; three sons, Millard W. Brown of Wellington,, Newman L. Brown of Houston, Eugene Brown of Amarillo; three brothers, John G. Newman of Houston, W.R. Newman of Garland, and Robert L. Newman of Ft. Worth; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Jones of Pasedena, and Mrs. Cannie Faye Owens of Napa, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
