Bio
Born in Montgomery County, PA., moved to Clarion Township, Clarion County, PA in 1832. In 1838 she married James S. Champion. In about 1861 James, Mariah and family moved to Millstone Township, Elk County, PA. Children... Thomas J. Champion Born 15 Sept 1841, Died 23 June 1878 Married Emma Slagle. John S. Champion Born 2 March 1839, Died 19 August 1902 or 03. Mary Ann Champion Born 1843, Married George Smith Born 1837, Died 1918. Nancy Champion Born 1847, Died 1948. John Champion, Thomas Champion and George Smith all served in the Civil War 105th Regt. Pennsylvania Vol Inf. In her later years, after James passed away, she lived with her daughter Nancy. Her other daughter, Mary Ann, helped out with her mother wnen needed. Mariah was a faithful member of the United Brethern Church(aka Donahey Hill).
