Funeral services for Zelda Jane DeFoor Quimby, age 82, of Rusk are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010, in Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Crockett Street, with Brother Don Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in the Linwood Community on Highway 241 under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk. Mrs. Quimby died Sunday, February 21, 2010, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Zelda Quimby was born September 10, 1927, in Hope, Arkansas, to John J. and Lillie Mae DeFoor. She was a homemaker and a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a longtime Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible school teacher and choir member. Zelda was a member of the Rusk/Alto Chapter 79 Eastern Star where she held the office of chaplain for many years. She was married to Leo Quimby, and he preceded her in death; as did her parents; five brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by her son, Jody Quimby and daughter-in-law, Mary Ann, of Bryan, Texas; three daughters, Anna Nolley and son-in-law, Albert, of Rusk, Annie Hudson and son-in-law, Donnie, of Celeste, Texas, and Brenda Chandler of Nacogdoches, Texas; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Jane DeFoor and Gayle DeFoor of Rusk and Joyce DeFoor of Kerrville, Texas; brother-in-law, Jack Patterson of Freeport, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Grant Quimby, Brad Chandler, Cody Mitcham, Troy Wooten, Billy Hix, Charlie Cornelius and Keith Clements.Honorary pallbearers will be Robert James Mach, Michael Chandler, Albert Nolley and Donnie Hudson. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Rock Haven and its staff in Nacogdoches, Texas, for the loving care shown to their mother for over two years.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, P.O.
