Bio
Lorena Tate, 81, of Corsicana, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, in Corsicana. She was born March 31, 1928, in Corsicana to Melvin Riley Ray and Pearl Glascow Ray. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Bell; father, Melvin Riley Ray; brother, Melvin Russell Ray; sister, Juanita Davis; brother-in-law, James T. Davis; and nephews, Thomas Davis and Larry Davis. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Mahlon Tate; children, Jacky Ray McClan, James Robert "Bobby" McClan, Richard "Rick" McClan, and Jon Anthony "Tony" McClan; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Lonnie Keele officiating. Interment will be at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
