Bio
Elnora M. (Haskovec) Bowers, wife of late husband Olin Bowers, daughter of Wesley and Carrie (Hubacek) Haskovec, born on July 8, 1921, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at the Ennis Care Center. She attended school in Bardwell and Ennis. She married Olin Bowers on Nov. 5, 1937. After their marriage they lived on the family farm in Bardwell for two years before moving to a farm in Dresden. One year later they moved to Corsicana where they made their home for 43 years. She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn and her husband Harvey Rice; one son, Darrell Bowers and his wife Glenda; one sister, Ethelina Knize; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Joan Walker; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Bowers on Jan. 2, 1997; one brother, Albert Haskovec; one sister, Carolyn Haskovec; and her parents, Wesley and Carrie Haskovec. Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, with visitation from 5 p.m. until rosary time at J.E. Keever Mortuary. Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at St. John Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
