Bio

Gloria Tacon Brannan , a former Memorial Baptist Church Sunday school teacher and a day-care worker, died Sunday at a local hospital. She was 77. Mrs. Brannan , who resided in Citronelle, was a native of Mobile. She is survived by a son, Robert L. Brannan Jr. of Macoutah, Ill.; four daughters, Lavern M. Morris of Mobile; Amy L. Merrit and Elizabeth A. Roberts, both of Citronelle, and Margaret Johnston of Gulf Shores; two brothers, Frederick E. Tacon of Mobile and Tate Tacon of Huntsville; two sisters, Patricia Borne of Grand Bay and Desiree Tacon of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. Services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Baptist Church, with burial at New Home Cemetery.
