From: May 26, 1949 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral Services For Mrs. Martha Jones, 80, Held Wed., May 25. Last rites for Mrs. Martha Ellen Jones, 80, a resident of Winn Parish for more than 70 years, were conducted at the Cypress Creek Baptist Church Wednesday,May 25, at 4 p.m., with the Rev. W. C. Bounds officiating. Burial in Cypress Creek Cemetery was directed by Southern Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones, who had been in ill health for some time, died at the home of her son, Austin Jones, Dodson, Route Two, Tuesday, May 24. She was born December 5, 1868 in Mississippi and moved to Winn Parish at the age of 10. She had lived in the Dodson area since that time, and was a member of the Cypress Creek Baptist Church. Her husband preceded her in death in 1937. Surviving are four sons, Wiley and Austin Jones of Dodson; Dayton Jones of Winnfield; and Otis Jones of Montgomery; one daughter, Mrs. G. C. Temple of Dodson; one brother, P. C. Borden of Pioneer, La.; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
