Bio

Edith Marie (Stout) Harmon, 71, Springfield, Mo., and formerly of Claremont, died at 12:57 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 1987, in Greene Haven Nursing Home in Springfield. Mrs. Harmon was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Chauncey, the daughter of Henry and Edna (Rigall) Stout. She first married Millard Likens (18 Jan 1914-23 Oct 1996) and then later married Wilmer C. Harmon and he preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1975. She was a retired nursing home administrator and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Olney. Survivors include three daughters, Betty Joy Likens, Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Melvin (Barbara Jo) Kapper, Olney, and Mrs. Milan (Bonnie Marie) Swialski, Evansville, Wisc.; three brothers, Warren D. Stout, Sumner, Henry Wayne Stout, Natchitoches, La., and Floyd Erias Stout, Robinson; three sisters, Mrs. Cocella Jenkins, Chicago, Mrs. Forrest (Alene) Rosborough, Olney, and Mrs. Marvin O. (Ruth) Waggoner, Lawrenceville; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and an infant twin daughter (sister to Betty Joy).
