Bio

Joy Naomi Carter, 71, of Luray, died on Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at MontVue Nursing Home. She was born on July 31, 1932, in Martinsburg, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Comer George and Julia Dana Painter Kauffman. Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and a member of the Page United Methodist Church, the P. Buckley Moss Society and the FCE of Rileyville. On March 11, 1951, she married Colon Bethea Carter, who survives. A funeral service was conducted on Monday, Aug. 25, at the Page United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ralph H. Crabill. Burial was in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery. in Luray.
