Bio

Charles E. Alexander published "Memories of Orchard". His dedication in the book states: "More decades ago than I care to recall I was born above the lobby of the post office. My father, William E. Alexander was the postmaster and my mother the assistant. Since I was an only child and this was pre-television to say nothing of radio days - my parents entertained me with the history of our community and state as they knew it. For those who choose to disagree with my ability to recall the history as presented by my parents to me, I'm sorry. The boldness of original settlers and the endurance of subsequent generations permits the oasis we call Orchard to stand today. Only by recognizing our past can we plan for our future and it is to that goal I have recorded the following."
