Bio

Irene Krahulik Reznicek, 87, of Waco, passed away at a local hospital Feb. 13, 2010. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lori Cotton officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Irene was born in Oenaville, Texas, to the late Anton and Emilie Babovec Krahulik, and was the youngest of seven children. Irene married Alvin Reznicek in 1943 at the Seaton Brethren Church and they were married for 52 years. She was a member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church was also a charter member of the SPJST Fraternal Lodge #66 in Elm Mott. Being very proud of her Czech heritage, Irene was always baking kolaches, bread and other homemade pastries. Irene was very involved and supportive in her children's activities and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Among her hobbies was being a flower enthusiast and watching her flowers grow and she also enjoyed oil painting. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 4, 1995. Those left behind to cherish her memory are daughters, Elaine Blood and husband, Pat, of Bedford, Lana Thrasher and husband, Glenn, of Waco, and Chan Turner and husband, Jerrett, of Longview; son, Tim Reznicek, of Waco; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Adela Elliott, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
