Bio

Son of George Green & Caroline Celina (Folmar) Banks. The 1900 census gives his birth as February, 1886; the Social Security Death Index shows June 25, 1887; and the Texas Death Records show his birth date as July 25, 1888. [His first name according to Lynda Wyatt Green, wife of Jerry Arland Green, grandson of Jim Banks, who was a younger brother of Bud's.] His obituary from the Winnsboro News: Bud B. Banks dies; funeral held Thursday Funeral services for Bud B. Banks, 80, were held at 10 o'clock Thursday, December 26, at McCrary-Edwards-Cain Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jake Norris and Rev. Bill Blaylock officiating. Burial was at Grace Hill Cemetery. Mr. Banks died Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Winnsboro Hospital. A native of Wood County, he was born July 25, 1888 to Green Banks and the former Celina Fulmer [sic]. In 1907 he married the former Mary Ella Price who survives. He had been a resident of Houston before moving to Winnsboro a year ago. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. Survivors, other than his wife, include three children, Odie Banks, Gilmer, Mrs. Aubie Lee Daily and Mrs. Billie Jean Schumaker, Houston; a brother, Jim Banks, Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Bowers, Mrs. Georgia Lindley and Mrs. Kate Weems, Winnsboro; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dwight Courson, Bobby Lindley, Gayle Martin, V.G. Gore, Johnny Bowers and Bernace Ray Weems.
