Ruby H. Rogers - a 96 year-old native of Red Level, AL and resident of Mobile passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Mrs. Rogers served as one of the first female bus drivers in Mobile during World War II. She retired from Mobile Infirmary after several years of service as a unit secretary. She was a longtime member of Wilson Avenue Baptist Church and loved dancing. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Davis Leon Rogers. She is survived by two children, James David Rogers and Mila Williams of Mobile; four grandchildren, Leslie McMillan (Ian), Wade Williams (Connie), Shannon Shufelt (Bryan), and Thad Williams (Angie); 12 great-grandchildren; beloved nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Sammy Gates officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Terry Lilley, Doug Lytle, Jimmy Fondren, Jimmy Liggett, Josh Shufelt, and Nathan Williams. Arrangements by MOBILE MEMORIAL GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 6040 Three Notch Rd.
