Bio
Gene Loeve, 67, of Taylor passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010, at his residence. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2010, with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Mass will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Msgr. Lonnie Urban officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery. Gene was born on November 9, 1942, in Granger, Texas, where he grew up an attended school. He went on to serve in the US Navy from 1960 to 1963. Gene worked as a technician for IBM for 30 years. He retired in 1997 and has happily resided in Taylor since. Gene enjoyed working on cars, playing dominoes, hunting, fishing, and following Texas Tech sports. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Alvin and Ella Loeve. Gene is survived by his loving sons, Russel of Bloomfield, Colorado and Marcus of Littleton, Colorado; grandchildren, John, Sarah, Ella, and Luke; brother, Alvin of Taylor; and sister, Delores Moldenhour of Taylor. Pallbearers will be David Loeve, Howard Swift, Jared Swift, Kevin Leech, Richard Stifflemire, and Sidney Krhovjak. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Loeve, Luke Loeve, Leonard Stifflemire, and Mark Merkord.
