Services for Vera Faye Williams Whatley, 79, of Vivian were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 11 at McGuire Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian. Officiating was Rev. James Hall. Burial followed in Evans Richie Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McGuire Funeral Home. Mrs. Whatley died Monday, December 9, 1991 at her residence in Vivian after a brief illness. She was born June 7, 1912 in Marion County, Texas and had been a resident of Vivian for 45 years. She was a housewife and member of Bethel Baptist Church of Jefferson, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Hardy Whatley of Vivian; two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Mary Whatley of West Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Raymond and Beth Whatley of Blanchard; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Frank Lucius of Gainsville, Florida; one sister, Opal Williams of Jefferson, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jnell Walker, Marty Whatley, Marshall Cox, Terry Cox, Kammi Whatley, David Lucius and Susan Lucius. Pallbearers were, Marty Whatley, Marshall Cox, Terry Cox, David Lucius, Tony Walker, and Jerry Hartzo.
