Jane Carlisle, married November 27, 1906, Hamilton County TX Marriage Records, Bk. 4, page 401. Parents: T. B. and P. F. Pruett. **Obituary (The Hamilton Record, April 29, 1920) The summons to the home beyond came to John I. Pruett at 4 o'clock Thursday morning, April 22, while loved ones were gathered at his bedside in the home of his daughter, Mrs Joe A. Tubbs in Hamilton. John I. Pruett was born October 31, 1870 in Dallas County. In 1871 with his father and mother, T. S. and P. F. Pruitt, he came to Hamilton where he has since resided. On May 31, 1894 he was married to Miss Carrie Patrick. The birth of two daughters blessed this union. One of them is now Mrs. Joe Tubbs while the other died in infancy. Mrs. Carrie Pruitt died F/ebruary 9, 1899. Seven years passed and he married Miss Jane Carlisle. They were the parents of/five children, three of whom with the mother survive the father. Besides these his mother, Mrs. P. F. Hitt, and two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Bolt of Konowa, Oklahoma and Mrs. W. F. White of near Jonesboro and a brother, A. L. Hitt of Grandview, Texas are left to mourn his loss. He was a good man, faithful in every relation of life to the highest ideals. He was a man well beloved by his family and all those close to him by ties of kinship, and his friends were numerous. He quit the walk of life when little past his prime, and it seemed there were many more useful years ahead, but he was called home and those who sorrow, "mourn not as those without hope", for with eyes of faith and lives measuring up to the requirements of citizenship in Heaven, they are looking forward to the day when they too, shall be called to that home where loved ones await their coming. The Record deepy sympathizs with all who bowed in sorrow.
