Thanks to Find-a-Grave member Carolyn Brinkmeyer for the following information: Suggested edit: Herald Coaster, November 11, 1949: John W. Andel, 58, died at the family residence here Nov. 1 and funeral services were conducted Thursday, Nov. 3, from the Triska Funeral Chapel. Requiem High Mass was said at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Rev. Jerome J. Tydlacka officiating. Mr. Andel was born at Nelsonville, Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Andel. While young, he moved with his family to East Bernard where he attended school. He was married to Miss Millie Vrazel of East Bernard in 1912. They resided there until 1912 when they moved to Rosenberg, where they lived until his death. Survivors include his widow; eight sons, Louis of Orchard, August, Edward, Joe, and John, all of Rosenberg, Vencil of Louise; three daughters, Mrs. Josie Wetz of Needville, Mrs. Dorothy Peters of El Campo, and Millie Andel of Rosenberg. One son, Frank Andel, was killed while serving with the armed forces overseas during World War II. Interment was in the Holy Rosary Cemetery, with Triska Funeral Home in charge.
