The Malvern Leader 9 November 1939 HARVEY RITES HELD SUNDAY Mrs. Harvey Died Friday Morning Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist church for Mrs. Annie Harriett Harvey. Rev. Glenn South officiated and burial was held in the East Liberty cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. L. A. Talbott and Mrs. F. R. Chantry with Mrs Roy Donner accompanying. The pall bearers were L. A. Talbott, E. W. Knight, Carl Wilson , Dr. J. O. Laird, Wm. Hasselquist and H. A. Galliher. The flower committee was composed of Mrs. Joe Donner, Mrs. Frank Swoboda and Mrs. Carl Wilson. Annie Harriett Harvey, daughter of George W. and Maria Lewis, was born Oct. 18, 1862 at the home north of Malvern and spent most of her life in and near Malvern. She passed away at her home in Peaceville Nov. 3, 1939. She was united with the Baptist church at the age of 15 years attending church regularly before her failing health. In 1880 she was married to George W. Marsh and to this union were born one son Goerge and a daughter who died in infancy. After a year they moved to Hardin county, Iowa where they lived two years. On Feb. 26, 1896 she was married to D. W. Harvey, spending the remainder of her life in and near Malvern. Mr. Harvey preceded her in death eight years ago on Sept. 8, 1931. Mrs. Harvey was stricken with blindness in 1919 and since the death of Mr. Harvey she has lived alone, doing her own work with an unknown determination. She is survived by her son George and wife, two granddaughters, Mary Evelyn and Georgia Ruth Marsh, two brothers, Henry Lewis of Calloway, Neb., and Harvey Lewis at Herman, Neb. Besides the relatives she is survived by a host of friends.
