Father - Charles Edgar Angell II Mother - Mabel Gardner Married Edna Woodruff Jan 25 1936 in Moab UT Sealed Jul 15 1953 in the Logan Temple Our beloved father, Charles E. (Red) Angell III, 86, on February 21, 1997, has gone to join his daughter, Charlene, to watch over their earthly family until all are together again. He was born May 21, 1910 in Salt Lake City, to Charles E. and Mabel Gardner Angell II. He attended schools in Ogden, West Jordan, and Magna, where he excelled in football, basketball and track. One famous Notre Dame running back said no one had every tackled him as hard as Charles. He was also an avid sportsman.During the depression era, Charles worked in the Conservation Corps Camps in the Moab and Uintah areas. While in Moab, he met his bride to be, Edna Rae Woodruff. They were married Jan 25, 1936 in Moab, and their marriage was later solemnized July 15, 1953 in the Logan LDS Temple. After moving back to Magna, Charles worked at Kennecott for 11 years as an electrician, then worked 28 years as a house painter, until he retired in 1973. Since his retirement he had enjoyed tinkering, gardening, and listening to or watching sports events. He also loved listening to music. Charles' greatest accomplishment in life was the love he shared with his family. Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna Rae; daughters, Gloria (Gary) Van Horn; Judy (Frank) Marsh; Ruth (Mark) Fechner; Christine Angell; son, Charles E. "Ted" (Joyce) Angell IV; sister, Dorothy Mecham; 25 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter, Charlene Arnold, brother, Joe, sisters, Ruth, Katherine, and Pat. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, 12 noon, Pleasant Green 3rd Ward, 8739 West 3000 So. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 So. Magna, and Monday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Pleasant Green Cemetery.
